Emily grew up in a musical family, singing and playing the piano from a very early age. Music was always in the house. There are still some songs she's only ever heard her dad's version of.

She earned her Bachelor's in Choral Music Education at North Central College. Emily is grateful to her many teachers she's encountered along the way, including Ramona Wis, Pete Martinez, Linda Ogden Hagen, Teri Leman, John Slawson, Ann Espel, and Lisa Bettcher.

Her biggest influences include The Beatles, Norah Jones, and Kimbra.

Over the years, Emily has had the great privilege of teaching PreK-12th grade music, most recently in Driscoll, Texas. Though she's not currently teaching full-time, she's honored to be part of the worship team at The Grove in Titusville. Emily also teaches yoga.

Originally born in the Chicago area, Emily spent 8 years traveling along the Texas gulf coast from Corpus Christi to Port Arthur. She now lives on the Space Coast in Cocoa, Florida, with her husband and their rescue pup, Bella.
